The History of the University Club

The University Club has been at the epicenter of Pittsburgh’s social scene since 1890.

The Club originally opened in downtown Pittsburgh, relocating to Oakland in 1923. The University Club stands eight stories tall and is part of the Schenley Farms National Historic District.

The building is often called the “Grand Ole Dame” by many University of Pittsburgh staff.
